One-Punch Man season 3 is finally on the horizon, and there might be big news about it this summer. For six years, fans have been waiting patiently for One-Punch Man season 3, and it’s finally been announced that season 3 will premiere this October, although there still hasn’t been much to go on beyond a short teaser trailer.
News for One-Punch Man season 3 has been surprisingly sparse, but fans might have something to look forward to this summer. Anime Expo 2025 will have Saitama’s English and Japanese voice actors, Max Mittelman and Makoto Furukawa, as guests, and since that’s so close to season 3’s premiere, Anime Expo 2025 will likely be when the first full trailer for One-Punch Man season 3 is set to drop. After the first teaser trailer, expectations are notably low, but hopefully, Anime Expo will have plenty of great news to make One-Punch Man season 3 exciting again.
Why One-Punch Man Fans Are Nervous About Season 3
One-Punch Man Season 3's Controversy Explained
As exciting as the prospect of more One-Punch Man season 3 news is, it doesn’t change how understandably nervous most fans are about it. For starters, while season 2 wasn’t outright terrible, it was nowhere near as good as season 1, as not only was it not animated by Madhouse, but the overall artwork and animation took a massive step down as it went from being pure visual spectacle to just an average-looking action anime, more often than not. One-Punch Man season 2’s divisive reputation still haunts the anime years later, and season 3 is already suffering for it.

Why One-Punch Man Season 2 is so Controversial (and What that Means For Season 3)
The One-Punch Man anime's second season is highly controversial among fans of the series, and the reasons why may affect the third season as well.
Things only got worse when One-Punch Man season 3’s first teaser trailer was finally released. Not only did the trailer consist primarily of still images of various characters as opposed to any real animation, but the artwork was noted to be significantly worse than season 1, and it was especially a step down from the manga’s artwork, as well. Add in how the director and other principal staff still haven’t been revealed, and One-Punch Man season 3’s teaser trailer did nothing but emphasize people’s misgivings about season 3.
Why One-Punch Man Season 3 Is Still Worth Looking Forward To
There Are Still Plenty Of Reasons To Be Hyped For One-Punch Man
Even with so many factors working against it, there are still plenty of reasons to be excited about One-Punch Man season 3. As bad as the teaser trailer looked, it could have easily been more of a proof of concept than anything, something plenty of anime have done in the past, so One-Punch Man season 3’s teaser trailer might not be indicative of what to expect from the actual anime. A proper trailer will undoubtedly have better things to show off, and with any luck, Anime Expo 2025 will be the perfect place for that.
More than that, of course, is how exciting season 3’s story will be. Season 3 will adapt the beginning of the manga’s take on the Monster Association arc, an arc that’s famous for featuring some of the manga’s best artwork and fights with an excellent sense of scale and constant escalation, so One-Punch Man season 3 is worth looking forward to simply because it will adapt some of the manga’s best material to date. There’s still plenty of reason to be hyped about One-Punch Man season 3, and hopefully, Anime Expo 2025 will find a way to capitalize on that.
