The star-studded cast of Christopher Nolan's new film, Cillian Murphy and Emily Blunt shortly after to play the two leads, Robert and Katherine Oppenheimer. Since then, a whirlwind of A-list names have been added to the project, including Kenneth Brannagh, Florence Pugh, Jack Quaid, Dane DeHaan, Josh Hartnett, Robert Downey Jr, Matt Damon, Jason Clarke, David Dastmalchian, and Josh Peck.

According to Deadline, the newest member to Nolan's ensemble is Schweighöfer, a successful German actor who got his breakout role playing hilarious safecracker, Dieter, in Zack Snyder's Army Of The Dead and the prequel Army Of Thieves released on Netflix a few months later. No details were provided about which role Schweighöfer will play in Oppenheimer, but with three new projects underway, Schweighöfer's presence in Hollywood seems fully cemented.

With filming underway and a release date set for July 21, 2023, further particulars on Schweighöfer's contribution is sure to come. Oppenheimer will tell the story of American Scientist, Robert Oppenheimer, and the role he played in developing the atomic bomb. Though much of the casting has been announced, several roles remain undisclosed, and details of the plot are firmly under wraps. But lead star, Cillian Murphy, stated that in typical Nolan fashion, the story will be told in an unconventional manner.
