The Outlander: How Old Claire & Jamie Are In Season 6

Everything We Know About Outlander: Blood of My Blood

So far, Outlander: Blood of My Blood is in such an early stage of development that not much is known about the plot of the series. Similarly, there is no indication as to when the prequel will premiere. Considering the fact that it is being put into development at the same time as Outlander season 8, it is possible that the show will premiere shortly after that season arrives, assuming the production schedule doesn't cause a delay like the two-year gap between the run of Outlander season 6 and the previous season. However, Outlander already has a cast and crew on hand, so Blood of My Blood may require some additional time to get the team assembled.

However, this greenlight announcement came with a bit of insight into what Outlander: Blood of My Blood will look like. Matthew B. Roberts will be writing and executive producing the series, and he revealed that the series, which will be set in the time before Jamie's birth in 1721, will follow "what lengths a person will go to find love in a time when love is considered a luxury." Roberts, who is also a producer and writer on the original Outlander, also teased that some familiar faces will be present in the series.

There is a lot to explore in this new Outlander series, as both of Jamie's parents had ed away before he ever met Claire. While his father Brian has appeared on 14 episodes of the series as played by Andrew Whipp, it is unclear whether the actor will be returning or if the show will cast a new actor as a younger version of the character. On the other hand, Ellen has not appeared in the series at all, so her casting is shrouded in mystery. There are a lot of details that need to be hammered out with Outlander: Blood of My Blood still, but it is reassuring that the beloved franchise will continue to exist after the flagship series has finished airing.
