Netflix's Special Agent Maya Miller (Jessica s Dukes) goes behind the Byrdes' backs and has Navarro arrested. Then, thanks to some fancy deal-making by Wendy (Laura Linney) and Marty (Jason Bateman), the FBI's deal gets transferred to Javi (Alfonso Herrera). Unfortunately, Javi kills Darlene (Lisa Emery) and Wyatt (Charlie Tahan) in the part 1 finale, and now Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner) is out for revenge.
A teaser for part 2 of Ozark season 4 has several clues about the story's future. Julia Garner's Ruth narrates the teaser, saying she's a "cursed Langmore" and staring at a gun that sits on her enger seat. The trailer teases the show's primary villains, including shots of Omar Navarro in a prison cell and Navarro's nephew Javi confidently sitting free. The footage ominously concludes with text reading, "The end arrives sooner than you think." Netflix then reveals the part 2 release date, which is April 29, 2022.
Ozark subtly teased another significant death coming in season 4, and it seems Special Agent Maya Miller may be the next character to exit. Part 1 of Ozark season 4 seemed to hint at Agent Miller's death multiple times. During the part 1 finale, Miller has Navarro arrested behind her superiors' backs and against the cartel leader's will. During news footage of the arrest, Agent Miller's mother gives a worrying response, asking her daughter, "What did you do?" Miller's mother also looks nervously at her when Laura Linney's Wendy Byrde offers her daughter the chance to work with Navarro in season 4, episode 3. The series also gave Miller a minor death scare when the cartel takes her to meet with Navarro alone.
With all the ominous hints around Agent Miller, she likely won't make it through part 2. Besides the hints, Ozark has a wildcard in play with Javi. Though Navarro's nephew made a deal with the FBI, he's constantly working on his own plots and even committed a double homicide right after making a deal with the American law enforcement agency. Ozark's FBI wouldn't look kindly on the cartel going after one of their agents; however, Miller double-crossed her bosses and the cartel by having Navarro arrested. Navarro knows about Miller's betrayal, and Javi will likely have it out for Miller as well, which doesn't bode well for the character's longevity.
Ozark isn't afraid to get dark. In season 1 of the show, the Snells seemingly cut a baby out of a pregnant woman, and part 1 of season 4 had Ruth discovering her cousin's dead body. For part 2, the show will likely get darker than ever, and Agent Miller, as a new mother, could be a disturbing target. Of course, the teaser for part 2 didn't even show Agent Miller, so there's a chance she could skirt by. But the Navarro Cartel doesn't forget her betrayal, and Ozark season 4, part 2, won't either.
