In Palia there are plenty of fish to catch, but those who have been fishing for a while know that the better fish options, like Golden Salmon, are worth putting more effort into catching. Unlike its more common counterpart, Silver Salmon, the Golden Salmon has a few conditions that must be met beyond just being in the right place at the right time.

The Golden Salmon is technically also a common fish, but since certain conditions have to be met in order to catch it, its rarity really depends on the capabilities of the player. Similar to fishing in Animal Crossing, the fish in Palia have a specific location and time of day when they can be caught.

Where To Find Golden Salmon

Location of Golden Salmon in Palia

Those who have caught Silver Salmon in Palia shouldn't be shocked to learn that Golden Salmon can be found in virtually the same location, the river running along the Kilima Village. Specifically, fishing off the dock near the village is going to present the best odds for a Golden Salmon catch in Palia.

Whereas the Silver Salmon reflects a color similar to the moon and can only be caught at night, the Golden Salmon shares its coloring with the sun and thus can be caught anytime it is shining in the sky. Anytime from sunrise to sunset, the Golden Salmon will be up for grabs.

Now what makes Golden Salmon a little more special to catch is the bait. Fear not, however, as the bait needed for this fish is a rather simple one. The only bait that the Golden Salmon needs is a worm. Do not overlook this step. Despite that this is a common fish, it cannot be caught without the use of bait, so players can fish all day long, but without a worm, they stand no hope of ever catching a Golden Salmon. In order to unlock the use of worms, the Worm Farm recipe will need to have been completed.

Don't forget to ols in Palia, including the fishing rod, whenever possible to be able to fish more effectively.

In order to complete the Warm Farm recipe, speak with Einar at the Fishing Store and purchase it for 500 Gold. Note that anyone with a fishing level lower than 4 will not be able to get the recipe. Once it's purchased, it will require 12 Sapwood Plank, 8 Stone Bricks, 4 Copper Bars, and 8 Leather.

After completing the recipe, players will have access to worms in Palia and can craft them as often as they like. Worms can then also be purchased from Einar for 10 Gold each.
