Judgment Sword Shadow is an optional boss in Persona 3 Reload who is a member of the Justice Arcana, giving it similar attacks and appearance to its other sword-wielding cousins. But, as a full-fledged boss, it is much tougher.

Note that this encounter has been completely changed from how Judgment Sword worked in Person 3 Portable and Person 3 FES. In those, you were required to fight three Judgment Swords on Harabah Block to progress through Tartarus. You now only encounter a single one at Tizah Block.

How To Find & Defeat Judgment Sword Shadow In Persona 3 Reload

The Judgment Sword fight has evolved to accommodate the big changes to Tartarus in Persona 3 Reload. The original Monad Depths have been moved from the end of the game to throughout the main story of Persona 3 Reload. Starting on floor 91 of the Tartarus, you will encounter Monad Doors. These are guarded by bosses, including the Judgment Sword, possibly found on floors 119 to 142.

Since which boss guards each door is random, you must always be prepared for Judgment Sword. Additionally, the Tartarus is constantly patrolled by the roaming Reaper boss, who shouldn’t be challenged until later in Persona 3 Reload.

Party Combination and Level Needed To Beat Judgment Sword Shadow

The Judgment Sword Shadow is weak to the Wind element. This makes Yukari the best attacker to exploit the boss’ weakness. Akihiko is another great choice to help lower the Judgment Sword’s damage output, but avoid using his Electric attacks. Finally, Aigis can buff allies. A minimum level of 32 will grant all of these moves, while being level 46 or over unlocks even more skills.

You can also grant the main character the aforementioned skills by equipping some of the strongest Personas in Persona 3 Reload. Orpheus can learn Tarunda to lower enemy physical attacks, while Fortune Arcana, like Kusi Mitama and Fortuna, uses Wind attacks.

Strategy To Defeat Judgment Sword Shadow

Unlike the original release, Persona 3 Reload allows you complete control of the entire party instead of random AI moves. You will want Ahihiko and Aigis to apply as many physical debuffs and buffs as possible. Once all those skills are on, put them on healing duty. This includes both restoring hitpoints and removing debuffs cast by Judgment Sword.

The protagonist and Yukari should primarily deal Wind-based damage unless they also need to heal. With enough hits from this element, you will be able to use an All-Out Attack to kill it completely. With the Judgment Sword out of the way, you can continue exploring more of Persona 3 Reload 's Monad Depths.
