Keen-eyed Persona 4 fans may have just discovered evidence that a remake could be in the works after singer Shihoko Hirata posted that she was recording for a new game in Tokyo. While fans have been waiting patiently for Persona 6, it seems Persona 4 could be the next remake on Altus's schedule. The presence of Hirata (who was a vocalist on the original Persona 4) recording new vocals seemed to spark the fire to rumors of a remake.
A post on X by rudiger__tw shows multiple screenshots from Hirata's IG , where it was revealed that the singer is currently working on an unannounced title. While this revelation is highly circumstantial and has very little evidence backing a Persona 4 remake being in the works, fans of the franchise are hopeful. Given that Persona 3 was remade more than a decade after its initial release, the possibility could be there, but the odds are quite slim.
Persona 4 Singer Shihoko Hirata Seen Recording in the MIT Studio
Pure Coincidence, Or Highly Intentional?
Persona 5 Strikers making-of documentary, and the same spot was used to record multiple Persona soundtracks. Redditor Kyuubee also added to the original thread by Turbostrider27 that Hirata has previously recorded at MIT for other projects too, including Destiny Child, a 2016 role-playing video game.

Persona 4 Showed Me What Most Of The Biggest RPGs Are Still Missing
Persona 4 may not have some of the impressive technology of newer RPGs, but it is still far better at one aspect of the genre than many other games.
Given that Hirata has recorded at MIT for other titles, this bolsters the idea that these speculations could end up being unwarranted. While the Persona 3 remake was extremely successful, no concrete data has been revealed that Atlus has any plans for a Persona 4 remake at the time of writing. That said, eagle-eyed fans also pointed out that Hirata had been liking comments alluding to the fact that she was there for Persona 4, which added even more fuel to the fans' fires.
While Persona Fans Are Hopeful, There Is No Concrete Evidence Of A Persona 4 Remake
The Odds Of This Being Proof Of A Persona 4 Remake Are Quite Slim
Even though fans were pretty excited by the possibility of a fourth game, there is no concrete evidence to that a remake is already in the making. Plus, apart from a much-needed graphic update, Persona 4 is not in dire need of a remake — unlike its predecessor. There is a higher likelihood of Persona 6 releasing before the remake anyway, as Redditor profound-killah said, "It's probably at least three years away given that Persona 6 will likely come beforehand, but you can play P4G right now, and it's excellent."
Atlus Studios has yet to confirm that a Persona 4 remake is even in the pipeline, though the devs are hoping to remake Persona 1 & 2 at some point. While many fans are hoping to see revamped versions of the older Persona games in the near future, it seems like we'll all be waiting quite a while for any confirmation on what's to come.
