The Pokémon franchise has had numerous powerful monsters for players to collect across all nine generations, with some of the most sought-after being the Pseudo-legendary Pokémon. These incredibly powerful monsters are beloved by countless people not only for their immense strength but also for their amazing designs. However, as incredible as these Pokémon are, one glaring issue with them needs to be properly addressed in Generation 10.
Pseudo-legendary is a fanmade term that refers to non-Legendary Pokémon that meet three particular game criteria. Said Pokémon need to be in the final stage of a three-stage evolution, level up at a slow rate, and have a base stat total of exactly six hundred. This leaves only a small selection of Pokémon available that are labeled with this term, and there is a staggering amount that is very similar.
Nearly All Pseudo-Legendaries Are Dragon-Type
Many Pseudo-Legendaries Have The Same Typing
There are 11 total Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon that exist, and out of all of them, nine include the dragon typing. Even Generation 9 included a Dragon-type Pseudo-Legendary with the inclusion of Baxcalibur. Although many of these Dragon-types are beloved by countless fans worldwide, it is a reoccurring trend that risks making other types less significant and dull with time.

10 Pokémon That Are Often Confused For Pseudo-Legendaries
Pseudo-Legendaries are among the strongest Pokémon around, and these 10 Pokémon are so impressive that fans often include them in that select group.
Going into Generation 10, the Pokémon franchise needs to take care of utilizing more typings with its Pseudo-Legendaries. Doing so helps add some much-needed variety and encourages players' use of other Pokémon types everywhere. The designs could be much more unique, and future gym leaders or elite four besides the Dragon-type could finally have a truly menacing ace Pokémon as part of their team.
There's Proof That Other Types Can Be Just As Popular
Pseudo-Legendaries Need More Variety
The only two Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon in the franchise that aren't Dragon-type are Tyranitar and Metagross from Generations 2 and 3. These Pokémon are incredibly popular among fans everywhere, and they primarily stand out in their designs compared to the rest of the Pseudo-Legendaries. If GameFreak wants to continue making monsters that are both incredibly strong and have memorable designs, then they should absolutely branch out with their typings for Generation 10 and other generations onwards.
Although Pokémon with Dragon-typings are immensely powerful and popular, Generation 10 should look to break the ongoing pattern regarding the constant use of this typing for Pseudo-Legendaries. Not only will this allow for more memorable creature designs to be made, but it will encourage more diversity in players' teams. Ultimately, the tenth generation of the Pokémon franchise will surely be incredible, and a completely unique Pseudo-Legendary will make it even better.
