Max Mondays are back in Pokémon GO, but this time focusing on Skwovet, which, despite its adorable form, can make for a slight challenge if you aren't aware of its weaknesses when hitting with the best counters. Being a Stage 1 Normal-type Pokémon based on a gray squirrel, this particular boss isn't that intimidating. Nevertheless, if you want to take on these raids solo and get through them quickly by blasting through as much of its health as possible within the time limit, knowing its vulnerabilities and single resistance are necessary for these brawls with giant Pokémon.

As for usefulness after you've defeated and caught it, Skwovet isn't the most powerful Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon you can catch in the game, either. 6-Star bosses like Gigantamax Lapras and Gigantamax Gengar in Pokémon GO hold that honor. That said, Skwovet can evolve into the surprisingly useful Greedent. The Greedy Pokémon's learnable moves include the Grass-type Bullet Seed and Dark-type Crunch, making it a versatile backup when you're short on counters against powerful bosses in future Max Battles. When it comes to Max Battles, you can never have too many options for your team.

Dynamax Skwovet Weaknesses & Resistance In Pokémon GO

Fighting & Ghost-Types

Pokemon GO key art of Fighting-type Pokemon, which Dynamax Skwovet is weak against

Dynamax Skwovet is a pure Normal-type which means the only weakness in Pokémon GO is against Fighting-type moves, inflicting 160% damage compared to regular attacks. This is the same as when battling Skwovet in its normal form. While super-effective damage differs between the various games in the series, it's just as important in GO.

Both the Ultra League and Love Cup: Great League are tough competitions, but you can win more matches by selecting the best teams in Pokémon GO.

You'll be able to inflict even more damage when you're Pokémon using Fighting-type moves of the same type, adding an essential amount of 20% extra damage, also known as STAB (same-type attack bonus). This will be the fastest way to blast through Skwovet's health bar.

You can only use Dynamax- or Gigantamax-capable Pokémon in Max Battles. You'll catch your first Dynamax Pokémon through the "To the Max!" Special Research or when visiting a Power Spot for the first time.

The other main thing to keep in mind is Skwovet's resistance in Pokémon GO, which is only against Ghost-type attacks, dealing only 39% damage instead of 100. This means that any other type of attack you use will be received as neutral damage. Since Max Battles can only be fought with Dynamax or Gigantamax-capable Pokémon, you should have plenty of leeway to at least easily take Skwovet on in a raid party with another Trainer at the very least, even if you don't have any counters that can use Fighting-type moves.

Dynamax Skwovet Best Counters In Pokémon GO

The best counters to use against Dynamax Skwovet in Pokémon GO are Fighting-types like Machamp, Machoke, or Falinks. Because these are pure Fighting-types, you'll get that important 20% STAB to boost your damage. The full list of counters and their movesets can be found in the table below:

Since Skwovet only has one weakness, there aren't as many options for super-effective damage compared to past raid bosses. Nevertheless, it also only has one vulnerability, which means you can use essentially any other Dynamax- or Gigantamax-capable Pokémon that doesn't use Ghost-type moves, and you will be fine. You might be cutting the time limit close, but you can likely solo the raid yourself if your team is strong enough.

To make the most of Dachsbun, here is the best moveset in Pokémon GO you can use, along with whether the Fidough evolution is any good.

If you're new to Max Battles or want to win a battle as fast as possible, try using Max Mushrooms as they boost the damage your Pokémon inflict for 30 minutes, making it great for soloing these types of raids. They are quite expensive at 400 PokéCoins each, so only use them if you have to, as they're more suited to tougher 5-Star bosses like Dynamax Moltres in Pokémon GO. As long as you use Fighting-type counters like Machamp and Falinks in Pokémon GO, any Max Battles against Skwovet will be as easy as you can imagine.
