The Max Monday event is back on a regular basis in Pokémon GO, making it so following the latest schedule is a must if you want to add featured Dynamax Pokémon to your collection. Niantic has been no stranger to introducing ongoing monthly events that change on a regular basis. This new weekly opportunity to take on giant iterations of certain Pocket Monsters is great for keen Trainers looking to expand their inventories of giant creatures.

Max Mondays follow other regularly updated events, like the rotating party of Pokémon GO's Raid boss schedule. The exception, however, is that you're rather restricted in regards to the variety of Pokémon you can take with you this time around, limited to certain other Pokémon you can get in the game. With that, comes an extra degree of challenge, but that makes clinching a win and adding a new member to your team of large creatures extra satisfying.

You'll have an easier time winning Max Raids if you bring a Dynamax-capable Pokemon with a moveset that can target a boss' weaknesses. For example, bring a Squirtle with Water-type moves to counter Dynamax Charmander.

Kanto starters Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle being added once again doesn't come as a surprise. That's because they've been available since the beginning of the feature being a part of the game and were a part of last month's Max Monday schedule as well.

How Do Max Mondays Work?

Another Weekly Event You Can Try

Following the event's launch in Pokémon GO last month, Max Monday starts every Monday at 6PM, lasting one hour until 7PM local time. In a similar way to Spotlight Hours or Raid hours on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively, every Max Monday makes its featured Pokémon the boss of all Max Raid battles. Like when playing the game normally, Dynamax battles can only be taken part in at Power Spots that are found when exploring your in-game map.

Power Spots pop up in a familiar manner to Gyms, but instead appear as large purple towers with an X on the top. As you get close enough and interact with one, you'll be able to collect the Max Particles that you need to spend to take part in the battle as well. You need at least one Dynamax Pokémon with you to attempt a Max Raid Battle as well, though you have a Raid party of up to four Trainers with up to three Dynamax-Pokémon each.

How To Win Max Raid Battles

Similar To Regular Raids But With A Twist

Winning Max Raid Battles comes down to the same methodology as regular Raids, tapping to use Fast Attacks while using Charged Attacks when you build up enough energy. Where Max Raids differ, however, is that you also collect Max Energy to fill your Max Meter to eventually Dynamax. With each Dynamax, your Pokémon use three unlockable Max Moves; a form of Max Attack, Max Guard, and Max Spirit; all of which you can level up as well.

Max Attacks inflict damage, Max Guard reduces opposing attack damage, and Max Spirit heals the along with allied Pokémon. You may not need to use all these moves for the weaker bosses, but you'll need to start strategizing when you take on the stronger ones. the dates and weaknesses of the bosses in this month's schedule of Max Mondays, and you'll be able to add new Dynamax Pokémon like Krabby and Cryogonal to your Pokémon GO arsenal.

An earlier version of this article stated that Max Mondays started on Tuesdays, which has been corrected to Monday.
