Manaphy is a mythical Pokémon that players can find while completing a request in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Manaphy is a powerful Water-type Pokémon that players can add to their team later in the game. Players will need to complete Request 66 in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, The Sea's Legend, to encounter and catch Manaphy, as well as Phione. To start the request, players can visit Professor Laventon's blackboard in Jubilife Village.
There are a few steps to completing The Sea's Legend in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. First, players will need to have Buizel, Mantyke, and Overqwil in their party for this request. Buizel can be found near the bodies of water south of Horseshoe Plains or west of Nature's Pantry. To obtain Mantyke in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players will need to travel to Tranquility Cove in Cobalt Coastlands.
For players to get Overqwil, they will need to evolve a Qwilfish, which can be found in various areas around Cobalt Coastlands. After catching Qwilfish, players need to have it use Barb Barrage in Strong Style 20 times to evolve it into Overqwil. Once players have Buizel, Mantyke, and Overqwil in their party, they can start The Sea's Legend in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Players need to travel to Cobalt Coastlands to complete the request and catch Manaphy.
Completing the Sea's Legend in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
The Sea's Legend must be completed in the evening in Cobalt Coastlands, so players can head there at the right time or use a camp in the area to set the time of day by resting. Players will then need to use their Basculegion mount in Pokémon Legends: Arceus to swim in between the two large pointed rocks jutting out of the ocean. Once players through, they will be notified of a cry in the distance. After the prompt, players can continue until they reach a small cavern called Seaside Hollow.
When players enter Seaside Hollow, they'll see a Manaphy surrounded by three Phione. Players will need to battle the Pokémon to catch them, so they can approach without caution and send out one of their Pokémon to fight. Manaphy is the only one that needs to be caught to complete the request, but players can also catch one or multiple Phione if they choose to. Manaphy will be level 50, and the Phione will be between level 34 and 36.
Players only get one chance to catch Manaphy, so it's recommended they save their game before starting the battle just in case it gets knocked out. However, if the Phione are knocked out before they are caught, players can leave the cave and wait for them to respawn. After catching Manaphy, players can return to Pokémon Legends: Arceus's Professor Laventon to obtain three Comet Shards as a reward. Manaphy is a mythical Pokémon that can only be caught during The Sea's Legend in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
