There are 28 Unown forms for players to find and catch in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Players can capture three Unown forms in Jubilife Village, and there are five in each of the other regions in Hisui. There are hints given for each of the Unown forms, but some of them can be vague and hard to decipher. Players looking to complete the Pokédex entry for every Unown form will need to use the hints to track each one down and capture it.
Finding every Unown form can be time-consuming, but players can use Braviary to fly in Pokémon Legends: Arceus and get around quicker. However, some of the Unown are on top of structures, hidden in trees, or on the sides of mountains, so they can be hard to spot from up high. Since they won't be visible from far away, flying to each location, then switching mounts and searching each area closely is the best way for players to find and catch all 28 Unown forms in Pokémon Legends Arceus.
Players will unlock the Unown Dex as a separate list of entries from their Pokédex. Before unlocking the Unown Dex, players will need to complete the quest where they battle Ursaluna and unlock it as a mount. After defeating Ursaluna and getting to Crimson Mirelands in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, players will watch a short cutscene where an Unown will follow them. After the cutscene ends, Professor Laventon will task players with finding every Unown form all across the Hisui region. Once the Unown Dex is unlocked, players can view the hints at any time for each Unown form in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Catching Every Unown Form in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
Players can't engage the Unown in battle, so throwing Poké Balls is the only way to capture them. An Unown will be captured automatically when players hit it with a Poké Ball, but some of them can be difficult to reach. It's recommended that players bring some Feather Balls, Wing Balls, and Jet Balls with them when searching of the Unown to increase their potential throw distance. Players will need to gather resources, such as Apricorns or Tumblestones, around the Hisui region in Pokémon Legends: Arceus to craft different Poké Balls and use them to catch the Unown.
- Unown A: Players can go to the Diamond Settlement in Crimson Mirelands to find Unown A at the top of one of the tents.
- Unown B: Unown B is in Cobalt Coastlands on the side of a volcano in the northeast corner near where players can find Alpha Ninetales.
- Unwon C: In the Celestica Ruins in Coronet Highlands, players can find Unown C on top of a crumbling square pillar.
- Unown D: Near the entrance of Crimson Mirelands there's a small campfire surrounded by three tree stumps, and players can find Unown D there.
- Unown E: Players can find Unown E beneath a tree near a pond in Obsidian Fieldlands' Gruelling Grove.
- Unown F: Players can head east from the Ancient Quarry in Coronet Highlands to find Unown F up on the rocky mountainside near where Alpha Goodra spawns.
- Unown G: Unown G is amidst the rocks at the top of Obsidian Falls in Pokémon Legends: Arceus' Obsidian Fieldlands.
- Unown H: Players can find Unown H above Jubilife Village's welcome sign at the front gate.
- Unown I: In Obsidian Fieldlands, players can find Unown I behind Lake Verity's cave.
- Unown J: In the Ancient Quarry in Coronet Highlands, players can catch Unown J near the ceiling on the right side.
- Unown K: Players can find Unown K at the top of the rock formation in Crimson Mirelands' Shrouded Ruins.
- Unown L: Unown L is behind a breakable rock inside the Wayward Cave in Coronet Highlands.
- Unown M: Players can go to the Sludge Mound in Crimson Mirelands to find Unown M on a tree stump.
- Unown N: In Cobalt Coastlands, players can find Unown N on the side of one of the pointed rocks in the ocean near Sand's Reach.
- Unown O: Unown O is in the same underground cave as Alpha Froslass in the Avalanche Slopes of Alabaster Icelands.
- Unwon P: In Pokémon Legends: Arceus' Coronet Highlands, players can find Unown P near the edge of the river in Fabled Spring.
- Unown Q: Near the entrance to Turnback Cave in Cobalt Coastlands, players can find Unown Q hiding in a tree.
- Unown R: In Cobalt Coastlands' Veilstone Cape, players can find Unown R amidst the rocks behind the grave.
- Unown S: Near where Alpha Bibarel spawns in Obsidian Fieldlands, players can find Unown S hiding in the dam.
- Unown T: Players can find Unown T on a small ice pillar near Avalugg's Legacy in Alabaster Icelands.
- Unown U: In Alabaster Icelands, players can catch Unown U at the top of Heart's Crag's waterfall behind the statue.
- Unown V: Players can go to the Scarlet Bog in Crimson Mirelands to find Unown V at the top of a small tree in the bog.
- Unown W: In Jubilife Village in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Unown W can be found on the Magikarp statue on top of Galaxy Hall.
- Unown X: At the top of the Grand Tree in Obsidian Fieldlands, players can find Unown X.
- Unown Y: There's a frozen waterfall close to Icebound Falls in Alabaster Icelands where players can find Unown Y.
- Unown Z: Near the Cobalt Coastlands camp, players can find Unown Z at the top of the ship mast.
- Unown ?: In Jubilife Village, players can find Unown ? directly behind their home near the window.
- Unown !: Players can find Unown ! in Snowfall Hot Springs in Alabaster Icelands at the top of a dead tree.
Reaching all 28 Unown locations may require players to have some of the Pokémon mounts unlocked, such as Braviary and Sneasler. Mounts in Pokémon Legends: Arceus are unlocked by completing various quests, including battling or catching Pokémon for NPCs. Flying or climbing to a spot where an Unown is located will make it much easier for players to catch every form quickly. Unfortunately, there are no rewards for completing the Unown Dex, but players looking to complete every Pokémon entry in Pokémon Legends: Arceus will need to find and catch all 28 Unown.
