As the launch hype of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet fades, many players are starting to look toward the games' potential DLC - and with it, the possibility of new Legendary Pokémon. Although nothing has been officially announced, it's relatively likely that Scarlet and Violet will follow in the footsteps of Sword and Shield's Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra DLCs, expanding the game with new areas, storylines, and new Pokémon along with returning favorites.

While Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's post-launch has so far been limited to introducing old starter Pokémon through online Tera Raids, it's worth noting that DLC was teased by a notable Pokémon leaker, hinting at returning mechanics and a revisit to a past region. The game itself also leaves several hanging plot points to be solved, with numerous hints at future content spread throughout Scarlet and Violet's story. With plenty of the game's more mysterious hints ripe for exploration, it seems especially likely that Scarlet and Violet have some larger content expansions planned for the future, with several clues specifically pointing to the potential for new, possibly Legendary Pokémon.

Several in-game hints and teasers make it seem very likely that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC will introduce new Legendary Pokémon. There's significant precedent, as both the Isle of Armor and Crown Tundra DLCs for Sword and Shield introduced new Legendary Pokémon, with Crown Tundra in particular introducing several - but even going off just Scarlet and Violet, multiple story details point to the potential for at least three future Legendary Pokémon. While some hints may point to new Paradox Pokémon, it seems relatively certain that Scarlet and Violet DLC will bring new Legendary Pokémon.

Scarlet & Violet Hint At Three Potential DLC Legendary Pokémon

An entry from the Scarlett book in Pokémon Scarlet, showing an "imagined" Pokémon.

Perhaps the biggest hint about Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's new Legendary comes from a post-game interaction with Arven - upon talking with him a few times at the Academy, he will show a page potentially teasing a future Legendary, whose partially concealed description describes it as a "mys[ter]ious, [br]illiant d[i]sk". Alongside that mysterious hint, another viewable page shows a depiction of an "imagined" Pokémon, differing between versions - with Scarlet seemingly showing an amalgamation of the three Legendary beasts (Suicune, Entei, and Raikou) of Johto, while Violet shows the same for Unova's Swords of Justice trio (Virizion, Terrakion, and Cobalion).

As the wait for more Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC news and leaks continues, it remains to be seen if the games' various teases will come to fruition. However, based on Sword and Shield's example, as well as Scarlet and Violet's own hints, new Legendary Pokémon in future DLC seems almost guaranteed. Whether It's associated with the game's existing story or something completely new, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC will be a golden opportunity for interesting new Pokémon.
