The latest expansion in announcement on the newest set, Extradimensional Crisis.

The announcement was made with a week's notice before the new expansion drops, meaning it will be added to the game before the end of May 2025. Extradimensional Crisis brings further Pokémon from the Sun and Moon generation of the mainline series, but also a new feature that could change the meta that players are using in their decks. Each expansion tends to bring something new for players to use in their arsenal and Extradimensional Crisis is adding Ultra Beast cards into Pokémon TCG Pocket.

When Extradimensional Crisis Set Releases In Pokémon TCG Pocket

The New TCGP Set Releases On May 29, 2025

2-11

With the quick turn around between expansions, many players, including myself, may not have fully completed the last set Celestial Guardians. However, players will still be able to open packs from previous sets after the Extradimensional Crisis release and there are still a few days before then when the older sets will feature more prominently in Pokémon TCG Pocket.

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is expanding its Shiny Pokemon card selection, but the new cards feel too generic given their extreme rarity.

The new Extradimensional Crisis set will release on May 29, 2025. No time has been confirmed for when the cards will be added to Pokémon TCG Pocket, but previous sets have been added in at 2 am ET. As with all the themed expansions, there will only be one set of packs to open, rather than the two or three that we have seen in some of the full expansions.

19 Cards Confirmed And 4 New EX Pokémon

While we don't know officially how many new cards will be introduced in the Extradimensional Crisis expansion in Pokémon TCG Pocket, we have had a glimpse of some of the cards in the trailer, such as several Ultra Beasts. The fourth themed pack is expected to follow in the footsteps of the others in of new cards, with Shiny Revelry introducing 111 new cards to the game.

Of the four confirmed new EX cards, Guzzlord EX looks to be the biggest game changer, due to its ability to discard opponents' energy while attacking.

Here are all the cards that the trailer confirmed would be included in the new expansion:

Everything Else We Know About Extradimensional Crisis

Ultra Beasts And New Solo Battles

5-2

There have been limited further details released about what we can expect in the Extradimensional Crisis-themed packs, but we do know it is likely to change the game for players in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Ultra Beasts will be used differently than in the main line Pokémon TCG, due to the lack of prizes mid-game. The difference they will make in battles is currently unclear, but some of the Ultra Beasts have abilities which revolve around other Ultra Beast cards.

As with previous expansions, Pack Points do not carry over between the different sets of cards.

Once the expansion has been added to Pokémon TCG Pocket further solo battles will become available across the various difficulty levels, allowing you to challenge the new EX card decks with worthwhile rewards for each victory. In addition, further in-game events based around the expansion have been confirmed post launch. This includes an Ultra Beast Drop event, A Wonder Pick Event and an Ultra Beast Mass Outbreak Event. The Extradimensional Crisis expansion in Pokémon TCG Pocket is going to be game-changing, and we don't have long to wait until it is added.
