Power Girl's Friendship With Harley Quinn Highlights Her Superman Family Outsider Status

Power Girl #10 – Written By Leah Williams; Art By Eduardo Pansica, Julio Ferreira, Romulo Fajardo Jr., & Becca Carey

The friendship between Harley Quinn and Power Girl dates as far back as 2014's Harley Quinn #10, when In classic Harley fashion, she does tell some white lies to Paige about them being best friends at the time.

Power Girl #10 s, Crush isn't surprise to learn Power Girl is also friends with Harley Quinn.

When she got her memory back, Power Girl was understandably miffed with Harley Quinn for the lies she told her during her amnesia episode. Still, they remained friends after the ordeal, hence why both Power Girl and her cat Streaky can be seen in the background of the recent Harley Quinn #38 at Harley's birthday party. However, one thing that cannot be overlooked is Harley Quinn's current position in the DC Universe, whose anti-hero actions border so thinly between hero and villain that she divides the Justice League on the matter.

Power Girl willingly claiming Harley as a friend could make her an even bigger outsider than she already feels she is.

Harley Quinn's Questionable Actions Could Dampen Power Girl's Reputation

It's Not Easy Being Harley's FriendPower Girl, Streaky, Omen, and other friends at Harley Quinn's birthday party.

Harley Quinn is considered an outsider in the larger superhero community, and if the community doesn't trust her, Power Girl willingly claiming Harley as a friend could make her an even bigger outsider than she already feels she is. Power Girl embraces being an outsider and being such has allowed her to befriend other outsiders, like Lobo's daughter Crush for example. However, just as being an outsider has complicated her role in the Superman Family, it could make being a superhero harder for Power Girl, especially by befriending a figure as controversial as Harley Quinn.

Power Girl #10 is available now from DC Comics.
