Princess Peach might be the one who takes center stage in her action-adventure game Princess Peach: Showtime! but it is really her variety of costumes that deserves the spotlight. Each costume that Peach changes into transforms her into an entirely different character. Whether becoming a swordfighter, ninja, or even a mermaid, Peach loses her normal skills in favor of more thematically appropriate abilities and skills with each outfit.

In order to save the Sparkle Theater and the kidnapped stars (known as Sparklas) of each play, Peach uses the power of Sparkle within the theater to transform with each costume change into the headlining roles for each level. These costumes are not just for show but give her the power she needs to confront Madame Grape and the Sour Bunch to become victorious over their evil magic. She also manages to look gorgeous in these amazing costumes while defeating the mysterious Darkle powers using her own Sparkle.

Figure Skater Peach is one of the more elegant of costumes that Peach can use, with a beautiful light blue glimmering effect and subtle snowflakes that seem to appear around her as she glides across the ice. In this costume, Peach does not use violence to overcome evil, but rather wins by overpowering the evil skater with beauty.

Figure Skater Peach's outfit truly brings out the blue in her eyes, showing that perhaps trading her common pink for a light blue is a good look for her. Her abilities in this outfit are to skate for her movement, spin, and twirl, or jump. Her twirls can coerce skaters to her side, or make enemies dizzy, and many times she must time her jumps and twirls just right in order to complete certain challenges.

Swordfighter Peach looks incredible with a bright blue cavalier hat and matching ensemble while wielding a rapier. Slashing away with sword attacks and timing dodges just right with some fancy footwork are the trademark abilities of this costume, allowing Peach to make her fighting into a sort of artistry. Particularly useful in this persona is her skill at timing a dodge perfectly so as to flip over an enemy and counterattack them from behind.

Peach's cavalier look is a perfect fit with the castle setting of this play, and the artwork of these levels feel as though they could truly be a stage production. Peach's skill with the sword is impressive, particularly when she is able to use that sword to easily slash through prison bars and other strong objects, making it easy to question just how sharp that blade may be.

10 Pâtisserie Peach Is A Fun But Unusual Choice

Pâtisserie Peach is truly the most adorable of all her costumes in Princess Peach: Showtime!, especially when her character is standing still, and she begins to dance a bit while rocking back and forth on her feet. Her round braided-like hairstyle and pink-lined chef's hat combine with the gingham dress to look like a little doll, while Peach herself is granted extra sweet abilities through wearing this look.

Although fun and unique, Pâtisserie Peach is left feeling slightly out of place amid the other plays. The powers that Peach has for these levels include magically whipping up cookies, if players can get the timing just right, so they don't explode, and frosting enormous cakes while sitting on a swing high above them. The levels are engaging and creative, but also a bit more on the unusual side.

9 Detective Peach Is Good At Solving Puzzles

Uncovering The Truth With The Power Of Intuition

Wearing a look that Sherlock Holmes would be proud of, Detective Peach has a charming outfit befitting a world-famous sleuth. Although it is never quite clear if she is wearing a skirt or khaki shorts under her tweed coat, either way, she looks ready to solve any mystery when paired with white leggings and knee-high boots. Her dainty white gloves are perfect for checking out crime scenes without disturbing any fingerprints.

Detective Peach's only real ability is using her magnifying glass to look for clues and then activating her Strike of Intuition power at just the right time. Players guide Peach and her detective prowess to solve puzzles and discover the culprit in the various heists taking place. The look and calmer pace of these levels has a distinctly different feel from that of other costumes, but captures the essence of a detective play perfectly.

8 Kung Fu Peach Uses Martial Arts

Kicks, Kicks, And More Kicks

When a martial arts school is taken over by the Sour Bunch minions, only Kung Fu Peach is able to save the day while showing off her incredible skills. The look of this costume is beautiful, with a purple kung fu uniform with stunning gold details in its accents and embroidery. Her hair is also put up in a classic bun with a braid coming down out of it, excellent for keeping her focused on what she is doing in defeating evil.

Kung Fu Peach's abilities, as far as the player is concerned, are primarily just kicking and not trying to make landings well without falling off of things. Peach is, thankfully, quite flexible, and her kicks are impressive by any standard, particularly when combined with her Kung Fu Sparkle powers in Princess Peach: Showtime!

7 Mermaid Peach Can Breathe Underwater

Mermaid Peach is a beautiful costume in the game, and likely one that Mario would be jealous not to have gotten to see. Peach transforms into a pastel pink and blue mermaid tail for this costume, along with the power to not only breathe underwater, but sing. Her pink and blue bikini top is also excellent at always staying in place, while her jewelry and hair are always flawless.

In saving this underwater stage performance, Mermaid Peach is given the ability to sing so beautifully that all aquatic life, whether fish or massive eels, will obey her commands. While Peach sings, players can direct schools of fish to push open tightly closed shells, reveal objects hidden behind seaweed, or even send eels to crash through bars. This costume essentially transforms Princess Peach into a Disney Princess with the power to command animals to do her bidding.

6 Dashing Thief Peach Utilizes Gadgets

Looking Stylish While Mastering All The Tech

Although a thief may typically be thought of as being one of the bad guys, Dashing Thief Peach is more of a super spy with an arsenal of gadgets at her disposal. For this ensemble, Peach is dressed in a sleek, black, and red spy uniform with a blazer and fedora. Her cape might not serve any practical purpose, but her black eye mask presumably helps to hide her identity.

Dashing Thief Peach steals back what has been stolen through the use of gadgets. Whether hacking into computer systems to shut down security systems or using her grappling hook to grab onto flying drones, she can infiltrate any hideout or secure location. When the time comes to make her escape, Dashing Thief Peach also has a special glider that can be instantly equipped to fly her to safety through the starry night sky.

5 Cowgirl Peach Uses A Powerful Lasso

Showing Off Her Lasso Skills With Finesse

Peach has more than just chaps and a great hat when dressed in her Cowgirl Peach costume, but even has a friendly horse ready to help her ride off into the sunset. Her blue jeans and cowboy boots are mostly hidden beneath her leather chaps, and the holster on her hip appears empty, yet Cowgirl Peach is a perfect homage to the wild west with her look. Interestingly, in this play, both Cowgirl Peach and many enemies have horns added to their cowboy hats, giving a look that is a bit comical while also being dangerous.

For her ability, this costume seemingly grants Peach master skills with a lasso, which she never lets stop spinning. Using this lasso she can grab objects and defeat enemies, all while never getting the least bit dusty.

4 Mighty Peach Has Super Strength & Can Fly

An Epic Sci-Fi Superhero

The futuristic costume that Peach puts on to become Mighty Peach gives her truly superhuman abilities of super strength, flight, and some type of electrical laser power. This red and black science-fiction inspired outfit appears to be the most well armored of any of her outfits, and she is given a special visor that completes the look, impressively stylized with large red earpieces. Her wrist bracers look perfectly matched to her outfit, while also hiding a secret ability to use electricity to grab onto items.

Fighting back against alien invaders, Mighty Peach has a rocket booster to help her fly. Meanwhile, using her supercharged bracers she has the incredible strength to lift objects, including UFOs or buses, and punch with extra force. Using these powers, no evil alien stands a chance against the Mighty Peach.

3 Ninja Peach Uses Speedy Attacks With Daggers

Sneaky Stealth Moves With Stabbing

Typically, one would suppose that an outfit of a ninja would need to be devoid of any color so that they can more easily blend into the shadows. Ninja Peach has a mostly black outfit that looks surprisingly comfortable, paired with a long and flowing green and yellow scarf and bright red sandals. Her hair is held up in a tall ponytail, and she is a cunning master of stealth.

As Ninja Peach, not only does Peach gain powers of speedy attacks using daggers, but she is also able to hide herself from danger with some very crafty methods. Whether holding up cardboard grass in front of her while moving through tall grass, hiding behind a camouflaged poster against a wall, or breathing through a bamboo reed while underwater, this ninja can stealth her way anywhere.
