There wouldn’t really need to be a time jump if it takes place shortly after TROS. It’ll be nearly 10 years after by time it’s released which would be plenty of time for Rey to have worked on reforming the Jedi.

I don’t entirely agree. Godzilla saved the world in KOTM, GvsK, and New Empire. Plus Godzilla has 2 movies basically devoted to just him where Kong only has one. Not sure what they mean by focusing too much on Kong. Besides it was stated in the movies that he was protector of humanity making that point also invalid.
