All very good and valid points. Like the other comment I also fast forward through the back stories. The show should focus on the singing as much as possible. And unfortunately I have to agree especially for Luke he seems to be more and more just going through the motions. It does seem this year that the stage presence of some singers is more accomplished than in the past. While on one hand this is good it does mean we don't see the development and progression that we used to see as the singers progresse in the show. Which I think is an important part of the show.

I think David has not been serious about being in a marriage from the beginning. He just wanted TV exposure. Why else would the first thing he says to his new wife is I live with my parents and I smoke. Think about it. Clearly he wanted to sabotage any chance of this marriage working. He's never had a cigarette on the show and he's shown no signs of the difficulty of quitting smoking. He's such a great guy giving up cigarettes, not a smoker . Obviously after getting a bad impression within the first 5 minutes of meeting and being married Michelle has found it hard to be impressed by David. And in the meantime David's demonstrated that he is not concerned about the marriage by playing the easy-going nice guy. In reality it's fine with him that the marriage is not working out. David playing the nice guy just trying to be accepted is such a sham. He was he never serious about being married. Michelle was robbed of the opportunity of a marriage possibly working out.
