According to some sources, that is what the Doctor was called in school; however, as befits a mysterious traveler in Space and Time, the Doctor's actual name is unclear and can vary depending on the narrative; sometimes it's mathematical, sometimes unpronounceable by humans, but almost always a mystery, a secret they share with few.
