True Grit
Hailee Steinfeld totally owns this movie. But the others, including Bridges and Brolin are still excellent. This is a great Western, and it’s very well-made. My only thing is that while I fully acknowledge that the Coen Bros. did a fantastic job here, I enjoy their other movies more. The ones that feel like a Coen Bros. movie: The Big Lebowski, OBWAT, Fargo, NCFOM, Blood Simple, A Serious Man, etc.

Heat
Michael Mann is one of the best directors in Hollywood. Some of his other films like Collateral might have the edge over this classic, but it is more than just a thrilling action movie. Mann fleshes out the major players, especially DeNiro and Pacino. Like Cruise in Collateral, we understand what drives these characters, and their philosophies. Only a razor-thin line exists between them by the end. This is a must-see for fans of the action/crime drama genres, because it offers more than thrilling action. Like Collateral, it’s also a thinking man’s movie that leaves you with plenty to chew on afterwards. It gets better with each viewing.

The Dark Knight
If you're a fan of Nolan's trilogy, you probably consider this the best one. In my mind, it's definitely a better movie than the fantastic origin story/gritty reboot that was "Batman Begins". It certainly blessed us with Heath Ledger's phenomenal performance that has not been matched in any live-action medium; in fact, the menace he brings makes you forget you're watching a PG-13 movie. The performances across the board are also great, although I personally wish they kept Katie Holmes. Joker's constant philosophical and moral clashes with Batman are arguably the most compelling aspect here, especially in the climax with the ferry conundrum. The action sequences are thrilling and highly entertaining. Really, what can I say about this that has not already been said, and why not the perfect 5-star score? Honestly, while Aaron Eckhart is wonderful as Harvey Dent/Two-Face, he is undeniably a secondary villain who is saved for the second half, especially the ending. As a result, he feels a bit tacked-on in the finale. And while I understand what Nolan was going for with Batman taking the fall for Dent's crimes in the end, everyone universally agrees that it would have been better just to blame it on the Joker. This is still one of my favorite movies of all time, and it is amazing how well it still holds up today.

Alien: Romulus
There are two truly GREAT entries in this long-running franchise. While far from perfect, Romulus is a solid film that plays like a greatest hits album. The finale is bound to leave fans polarized.

See AllYour Chance To Watch Sinners In IMAX Is Almost Over
I am glad it got an IMAX release, and is the kind of movie that deserves it. Too bad it’s gone now, and the nearest cinema where it’s playing in 70mm IMAX is in another city. It’s gained such popularity and positive reception that I would not be surprised to see a re-release in IMAX later this year. Fortunately, I still got a chance to see it in theaters, albeit in standard format.
