The DUMBEST thing marvel did was reveal the meaning of the asterisk at the end of opening weekend. Like sure it would have leaked out but that was litterally the only true draw for non-die hard marvel fans. Had they waited another week it probably wouldn't have had as bad of a 2nd week drop-off. I didnt get a chance to see it til like the Wednesday or Thursday after it came out and I am a pretty die-hard fan, as I am with most franchises I'm into. Also studios need to realize that for most people, second and third viewings will be on streaming now just out of convenience and cost effectiveness. Few are going BACK to theaters to spend anywhere from $10-20+ to see a film AGAIN. Maybe after 3 weeks they can start putting it on streaming for a $5-10 price so people who want to see it again ASAP can spend less money and not have to go out to do it.

The issue with thunderbolts definitely wasn't the story or acting, the film itself is actually one of the best marvel has done. Honestly easily top 10 or 15 (in a 36 film franchise) for me. Issue to me was marketing. Marvel keeps trying to go after non-marvel fans which I guess makes sense, but a film like the thunderbolts is only going to appeal to die-hards. It's not a big name team like the x-men, f4 or the avengers, and it doesnt have any a-list characters like Hulk or Spider-man. This was never going to be a billion dollar film.

Not to mention in a post covid era, where the hype of the world being back open has died down, most people dont go to see films more than once in theaters which is one thing a lot of studios rely on. Now, even if we like a film a lot, we're going to see it once and then save our money and second viewing for when it hits streaming. Really, I think the model the studios were doing during covid, of having more recent, films streamable for a cost is a good idea. I think a lot of people who saw thunderbolts would be happy to pay like $5-10 to watch it again on disney+ 3 or 4 weeks after it premiered. Then like 4 months after the premiere they can put it up as a normal, included streaming title.

A hero with no weakness is dull. With the villains he's fighting it's clear the moments of "weakness" come from having kryptonite used against him. When he's at full strength, which we also see clips of, he's taking on Kaiju and explosions. It doesn't make sense to just show him being a god, then what's the point of seeing the film?

I always said that Cavil was a great superman but a terrible Clark. Clark needs to be unassuming and instead he was this insanely beefy swole dude who was so clearly superman and acted like it. What made reeves so amazing was the characterization between Clark and superman was so different.

I just watched a video that brought this up. The theories they posed were either reapers only clean up smaller set events or it was because by saving her dad the doctor saw and crossed his own timeline. Either way, main idea was the doctor knows how things work and we don't and that's ok, which is honestly the best thing for a show like this.

Yeah. The one in the 2007 film was pretty bland but the character himself definitely isn't. I'm looking forward to this movie because it's cool to see how different this film is going to be and I love the like silver age retro-futurism. We also know norrin's surfer has been cast so it'll be interesting to see if he shows up in this film, even in a post credits scene or in one of the next avengers films.

Yeah, I don't think she is since norrin has been cast. This very much seems to be taking from earth x. She died in earth x too fighting a celestial so she may die in this too. I saw one person say maybe in this universe galactus eats celestials instead of just planets which would be a cool concept and if they stop galactus it would mean the celestial would destroy the earth which Shalla died fighting a celestial in the earth x storyline so thatd be pretty dope

This F4 movie takes place in an alternate universe to the 616 which is pretty dead on for the Planet X storyline where Shalla-Bal became the surfer. Also Norrin has been cast so if he doesn't show up in the post-credits he will probably show up in doomsday or secret war

My only issue is it seems like Gunn is wanting to go a bit older for his batman. We have younger batman with R-Pat. If Brave and the Bold is supposed to have Damien Wayne this is middle-aged batman. Ackles might make a great nightwing though

That scene where the doctor silences everything was so well done and Jinkx played an incredible and terrifying villain too. I liked boom and Rogue but if they're going to do these short seasons they need to be less episodic.

DW has always been woke 😂. Multiple LGBTQ characters over the whole run of nuwho since 2005 as well as suggestions of characters being gay in classic who before it stopped being taboo. Multiple anti-gun and anti-war monologues from every doctor over the course of the 60+ year history of the show, pro-feminist commentary since the 60s, one of the first major shows in the UK to bring up environmental issues starting in the 70s, massive anti-thatcher sentiments in the 80s, just to name a few examples. Yes... make a definitive statement like this 1 episode in... makes total sense. How about see how this all plays out? 6 of these episodes were filmed before Cox and DeNafrio convinced them to fullt embrace the Netflix series as cannon, sit back and let the full story play out.

I'd have swapped out Crimson with Good Mourning. I like crimson more but Good Mourning was what I'd consider their definitive album. Also despite Suburbia being my favorite Wonder Years album I think most fans would consider Upsides their best. Though when people ask me about what album to listen to to understand The Wonder Years I always say Suburbia. The perfect mix of their ability to have a personal-based concept album with some huge societal statements. I might have subbed a different band for Simple Plan but that album is such a perfect time capsule of the early 2000s. I do feel like the Decendents being omitted is a crime since both Pop-Punk and melodic hardcore punk bands see albums like Milo Goes To College definitive to shaping the genre.
