Gotta be MCU take on the first class OG xmen, scott, hank, warren, bobby and jean, maybe add polaris, then have a time jump next movie, with the giant size team with colossus, thunderbird, sunfire, storm, kurt, wolverine and banshee, and cyclops the only remaining member, saying the others retired, sort of, then the next movie after that, say something similar about the giant size xmen retiring, and bring in rogue, gambit, psylocke, Dazzler, and forge and keep storm, wolvie and cyclops... then the fourth movie will have them all return (barr Tbird and jean coz theyve died) to stop apoc and his crew, with archangel being the villian in focus, and introduce bishop...

Cyclops is the main guy, and Storm from the sequel onwards, play them off like the leads in josh weadons firefly with mal and zoe, that tv show was basically xmen in space

I doubt anyone will care about sam wilson-cap, having wings, he always had them as falcon, so the comparison would have always been there regardless of brave new world, the MCU should still introduce Warren as the hot head rich boy-renegade he was anyways, i bit like chris evans Human torch, and focus on his feathered wings, evasion tactis and healing ability, for atleast 3 movies until apocalypse enters the MCU, then give us the gut punch of him turning into Archangel, the FoXmen, never did him or other characters justice, purely making each movie stand alone to make money without planning a progression for each character thru out their journey unlike the more famous avengers arcs

If anything, a prequel would do this movie more justice, base it in Kansas, focus on the denton bros, and their struggles, focus on Van Zan, basically from his point of view, reign of fire was from Christian Bales Quinns perspective, it would be awesome to see it from van zans leading up to them leaving America, then reign of fire would end up being the omega of the story

Don't forget the release was around the time covid started to plague cinema goers, it was another case of holding off after that was dealt with, as well as the Disney take over earlier on, those who are criticing "new mutants", vs an already established "X-men" brand albiet basically Xmen no.7, there's a real disconnect with the average cinema ticket holder, knowing that new mutants is branched off xmen story, no matter how its marketed, its like eternals vs avengers in of comparisons, you'd have to look at movies that came out at similar times from different companies to gauge if it was just the marketing or the knowledge of the brand, before roll out to see if they really underperformed

They would have to, seriously the X-Men have core cast of women, and none of them are cast,

Mystique is a villian, the movies has her as an anti-hero, but she has always been a duplicitious freedom fighter in most mediums especially in the comics, im not stressed about the Avengers side of things theres plenty of cast there, yes hawkeye and hulk probably should be there, along with capt marvel, since the link with spectrum being in the X-Men univerese, but there's probably more that should be cast there, like storm, rogue, then either iceman, kitty and angel at the very least aswell as Colossus (cgi) that would be a great squad to showcase a "gold" type team vs the current " blue" team of cyclops, beast, gambit and surely Wolverine will pop up.. as far as jean grey also she could easily be explained as died from the Phoenix saga off screen, but storm and rogue is a must
