The gold standard that every sequel is compared to, and for good reason. Empire escalates the conflict with a tense chase, challenging truths, and one of the greatest reveals of all time, as every hero is tested, be they mentorless, star-crossed lovers, or blasted to pieces. Yet, despite the Rebellion being on the back-foot, Empire is still enjoyable and hopeful all the way through.

The strongest start a franchise could ask for. ANH is on a roll from start to finish, never feeling dull for a second and setting to a universe begging to be fleshed out. Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewie are a fantastic team of heroes that continue to inspire to this day, Vader and Tarkin are terrifying foes, and the ing cast is full of characters easy to love, with incredible special effects.

Charming, quirky, and absolutely uplifting in the face of cynicism, I have grown to really enjoy this movie as time has ed. DeVito's directing is perfect, and he and Rhea are perfect as the neglectful parents, fun, but oh-so despicable. The highlight is Pam Ferris' Trunchbull, an absolute force to be reckoned with, even as she devours the scenery

A solid fantasy adventure with an interesting premise. I enjoyed Dragonheart's unique dilemma between its cast, as Bowen is left to reckon with his role in the rise of a tyrant and his newfound bond with Draco, creating a surprisingly layered fantasy story.

The worse of Baron Cohen's movie, Grimsby feels incredibly outdated, even at the time of release, as Nobby feels like a pure blend of Noel Gallagher and Frank Gallagher of Shameless (UK version). Even Mark Strong feels like he is handing in a phoned-in performance, making Grimsby reliant on shock to keep you engaged.

I feel Salvation should have been the route forward for the Terminator franchise, exploring just what happened after Judgement Day and taking us into a period that had yet to be explored to its fullest on-screen. Unfortunately, bland performances drag an interesting premise down.

Jennifer's Body is a hilarious watch that balances camp horror with hilarity, as Megan Fox's titular Jennifer is turned into a brutal, terrifying killer. Amanda Seyfried is a perfect foil to Megan, leading to an entertaining cat and mouse game full of queer subtext and entertaining performances

While an improvement in accuracy when compared to Paul W S Anderson's adaptation, Welcome to Raccoon City attempts to do too much without the budget to it, condensing two movies' worth of story into a single movie full of mischaracterizations, and lackluster action.
