First off, it's Mr. Sheridan's story, so it ends the way HE wanted it to. Geez, what a bunch of Nancies. Secondly, he left lots room for imagination to fill the question "holes". 1944 is the next leg in the series. He couldn't very well have written 1924-1943 just because everyone evidently ran out of Kleenex.

It's not Rose's character or the actresses fault, It's the writing. The character could easily be the tech guru that Peter calls for data. Like the gal in Criminal minds.

The story line developed the character and abandoned it.
