I was lucky to have watched THE WAR GAMES when it was first transmitted in Australia over 50 years ago. Yes, it was epic and enthralling. I treasure my DVD print of its 10 classic episodes, and I look forward to seeing this remastered colourised special, especially the upgraded special-effects.

It wasn't until many years later that I appreciated how actually monstrous the treatment was of the Second Doctor by the Time Lords. He was executed! I suspect the new type of showing regenerations might help to underscore this point.

In my view Patrick Troughton remains one of the greats.
