I'm not surprised. They want to have a strong show like game of thrones, but learned nothing from that show.

Game of thrones followed the book, almost line for line, then veered into left field at the end because they ran out of book material and left it in the hands of script writers. Hence a lousy last season.

Then they make a show based on books and it nose dives when they diverge from the books. Weird. Just learn this lesson, ugh....
