See All7 Problems With The Chronicles Of Narnia That Greta Gerwig's Movies Must Fix
The "problem of susan" is not a problem at all, unless the problem is people being willfully obtuse and/or failing to understand the underlying premise of christianity. Her being denied access to the "new Narnia" has absolutely NOTHING to do with sexuality- insert massive eyeroll here. Lipsticks and nylons refer to growing up, and no longer having the faith of a child. People are leaving out her denial of Narnia, that it is "merely a game they played as children." It is representative of nothing more than a loss of faith. Aslan distinctly states that in our world, he has another name. "You must learn to know me by that name. This was the very reason why you were brought to Narnia, that by knowing me here for a little, you may know me better there." Susan's denial of Narnia represents a denial of Christ/ rejection of christianity, which is why she is "no longer a friend of Narnia" and not welcomed into the "New Narnia." That being said, I would LOVE to see someone start with The Magician's Nephew. Filmmakers never seem to make it that far into the series. I understand why people usually start with TLTWTW. Being the most recognized/ popular book, it's logical to assume it would bring in more viewers. But perhaps... with the right marketing... they could perhaps bring in just as many by advertising it as a prequel... and that they're bringing to life something previously unseen on film. Origins of the infamous wardrobe and all that. Don't people ever wonder how the wardrobe came to be? Why the professor believed Lucy's story? Because this book explains ALL of that! I hope they do manage to bring it to life, and that they try to stay as true to the originals as possible.
