See All6 Sci-Fi Show Cancellations That Still Don't Make Sense
I loved limitless
They were building up to the intrigue but what I loved was the main character who was working and whose personality added a lot of levity (I wonder if he would have kept this aspect in later seasons when things got serious had it not been cancelled)
There Are Weird Fantasy Movies, And There Are These 8 That Totally Went Off The Rails
I don't any plot holes in mirror mask. I it followed dream logic rather than real world logic but that's different
10 Books You Must Read Before Seeing Their Movie Adaptations To Get The Full Experience
I disagree. Sometimes reading the book first can depend the understanding of the movie but at other times it can lead to a disappointing experience. Reading the book second is sometimes better because you discover there is so much more rather than discovering how much is missing.
This is the case with wicked. First of all reading the book won't help you understand the movie/musical better. It actually is disappointing since the musical is more mainstream, more sacharine. Heck, they have it a happy ending. One of the great things about the book is that it manages to remain faithful to the original book AND movie (other than the color of the slippers iirc given that it's really an either or sitch). The movie and musical are fun and entertaining but the book is so much richer, vivid and interesting (and tragic). If you're reading it before the movie you're setting yourself up for disappointment. If you read it after (while conscious that it is vastly different, it will be a fun ride
I Don’t Mind Disney’s Remakes, But My Biggest Fear Is That These Other Animated Movies Will Became Live-Action Too
You needed to read the story to make this comment? With the title is more than enough. "Will became" Seriously? The author doesn't know enough English to separate past and future?
It's Official: Superboy Just Got a New Name, And We Have the DCU to Blame
This is so true
Like they could keep the super in the name as long as it have him his own identity
Even Superboy is better than super son. Superboy identified him in relation to his age. HIS age. Super Son identities him by subsuming his identity in relation to Superman, he is not his own person, just Superman's son. That is a disservice to his character. Even sidekicks get more autonomy in their names
"Streaming Has Had A Big Problem With Epic Fantasy": Author Brandon Sanderson Weighs In On Fantasy TV, Cites Rings Of Power & Wheel Of Time As Disappointments
My other issue with the series is that it seems like a vanity project for Rosamund Pike. She is THE producer and the majority of changes seem to be just to give her the spotlight and things to do (her creating the drain at the end of season 2, changing how the Ways work so she has to do a whole dance number to open them, her being stilled/shielded for most of season 2, her part in the confrontation at the end of season 1, the list goes on
I get some changes are needed for storyline/flow reasons (e.g. the Seanchan changing the Sul'dam from women who can learn to channel to just weak ones in order to avoid exposition) and others for practical reasons (the "agelessness" of Aes Sedai would be hard to recreate for example) but as I said, the majority are to aggrandize Moiraine's character (the one played by the produce of the show) and so many of the rest are to apparently simplify the story "just because" (I'm guessing they think the audience is too stupid to handle too much world building, like would it have been that difficult to explain the one power is composed of five elements in the first season?)
And while I have no problem with racial changes for the characters (though some of the choices seem strange to me, like Avhienda being WoT to Disney's modern Ariel) I DO have a problem with them changing the essence of the character
Nynaeve was stubborn but capable, wise and string with a natural talent for healing with the one power, not just lashing out. Now she's stubborn like a petulant child, weak, whiny and can't heal anybody, just explode
As for the uncertainty of renewal, just make sure each season covers a book/arc so that there's a sense of completion at the end of it so even if it doesn't get renewed students aren't left feeling frustrated like with a cliffhanger
