See AllDo you agree that Smart Hulk has taken away the character's appeal in the MCU?
Smart Hulk has been divisive for Marvel fans. The comic book version of this character is Professor Hulk, who debuted in Incredible Hulk #377 by Peter David and Dale Keown. I personally have enjoyed seeing this version of the character onscreen, but I also understand that some viewers prefer the OG version. What do you think about the MCU using Smart Hulk? Would Red Hulk be a good fix to make up for the MCU using the more docile, brainy version of the character?
What is your favorite Jackie Chan kung fu movie?
Jackie Chan is by far one of the best – if not the best – kung fu stars of all time. He's starred in many hits like Rush Hour, Heart of the Dragon, and Police Story. My personal favorite is The Medallion, which I used to watch on a weekly basis. What is your personal favorite Jackie Chan kung fu movie?
What movie do you think everyone should watch at least once?
There are many great movies that everyone should watch at least once in their lifetime, whether due to being cinematic masterpieces, important social commentary, or genre-defining movies. While I can't narrow it down to one, I've selected three that I think fall into this category: Night of the Living Dead, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and 12 Years A Slave. What movies do you think everyone should watch at least once?
Do you think it's reasonable that studios are afraid to distribute The Apprentice?
The Apprentice has yet to find a studio distributor willing to release The Apprentice due to the fear of pissing off one of the most powerful people in the world – Donald Trump. However, any lawsuit against this might fall into the category of strategic litigation against public participation (SLAPP) suits, and anti-SLAPP statutes exist in 30 different states. Additionally, it should be protected by Freedom of Speech. However, Trump would almost certainly use his power and resources against any studio that distributes The Apprentice. What do you think? Should studios hesitate to distribute The Apprentice?
Should Bridgerton showrunners try to bring back Daphne?
While some see sca as a narrative replacement for her, Daphne's presence is very strongly missed. The show feels incomplete without her in the cast. However, according to an interview with Variety, actress Pheobe Dynevor said that she feels that Daphne's character arc is done. What are your thoughts on this? Does Bridgerton need to bring back Daphne to survive?
What is your favorite couple in a John Hughes movie?
John Hughes has created multiple coming-of-age movies, most of which have romances at the center. Some of these couples have aged poorly, ala Bender and Claire from The Breakfast Club. Still, favorite couples are a highly subjective topic. My favorite couple might be entirely different than yours, depending on what we each value in a romance story.

The Legend of Ochi
The Legend of Ochi is a very unoriginal story with flat characters packaged in genuinely breathtaking visuals. It's painfully slow-paced, and the audio mixing wasn't always great. Still, the film is definitely best watched in the cinema to fully appreciate the landscapes, animatronics, and puppetry. Also, Helena Zengel gave a compelling performance that tugs on the heartstrings despite the poor character writing.

Screamboat
As both a Disney fan and a horror lover, Screamboat is fantastic. The movie is chockful of gore, blood, and Disney easter eggs/references. It felt like a love letter to The Mouse. Screamboat also has many similarities to the Twisted Childhood Universe, which is a group of indie films that I love. However, it isn't without its weaknesses. The story lags at points, and some of the characters are so one-dimensional that I just don't care whether they live or die. That being said, I'd definitely watch Screamboat again!

Snow White
I really wanted to like Disney's Snow White more than I did. Unfortunately, the film had so many issues, from cohesion to a consistent theme to strange costume choices to terrifying CGI dwarfs. The performance by Gal Gadot also didn't live up to expectations. That being said, Rachel Zegler perfectly embodied Snow White, and the dynamic of the relationship between Jonathan and Snow entertained me. I also loved the new songs (minus "All Is Fair"). I might not watch the movie again, but I will definitely have the soundtrack on repeat.

XO, Kitty
I love XO, Kitty season 1. If I were rating just based on the first season, I'd give the show 7 stars out of 10. Unfortunately, I hated almost everything about season 2, outside of the family storyline.
**SPOILERS FOR SEASON 2 ARE AHEAD!**
What was the point of having Sapphic characters if they were going to paint them as liars and cheaters? That perpetuates stereotypes, especially when one of the characters engaging in cheating is bi. They destroyed three Sapphic romantic pairings and an LGBTQ+ friendship. The story destroys Yuri's personality. Then, they rubbed salt in the wound by using a Chappell Roan song (Chappell Roan, who is an out and proud lesbian) on Min Ho and Kitty instead of any of the potential WLW pairings.

Virgin River
I love the visuals. I love the characters and their relationships with one another. I even love the small-town ambiance. However, the storylines in this show are subpar, and there are so many timeline issues that it's maddening.

Before
Every single week, my rating score for Before drops because the story is painfully dull, messy, and frustrating. Every episode adds more questions but provides almost no answers. At this point, I'm only continuing to watch it for two big reasons:
1. It's my job to write about this show.
2. I want to see if they can come up with a satisfying explanation that could redeem the show.
I will give the show credit for one thing that's continually impressed me, though. The sound editing is fantastic! There are some great moments of audio horror that made my skin crawl.
Edit 12/14/2024: Yep, you guessed it. The rating dropped another star.

Dear Santa
Dear Santa is so painfully bad that it's hilarious. The premise feels like a family-friendly rip-off of Letters to Satan Claus. The movie also doesn't know its target audience, and the ending undermines the core message. The only thing that saves the film from being a 1/10 is Jack Black pretending to be a demon, pretending to be Satan, pretending to be Santa.

10 Best Shows & Movies Based On Banned Books To Watch After The Handmaid's Tale's Finale
Hi Kenji,
Thanks for your comment. I think you're misunderstanding. The reasons listed in this article as to why these books are banned come from the actual bans around the world (mostly within the US). NOT FROM ME! I don't even believe banning books should be a thing.
To answer your question more directly: No, I don't use AI. Yes, I know the books listed. I am VERY aware that The Hunger Games isn't anti-family and doesn't include offensive language. I also don't think it's satanic. Unfortunately, those are actual reasons given why those books were banned. That's part of why I mentioned in the introduction of the article that, all too often, completely incorrect and false reasons are given for banning books.
Manuel Garcia-Rulfo Replacing The Lincoln Lawyer Show's Original Mickey Actor Avoided Repeating A Matthew McConaughey Movie Change
Hello Cuzisaidso,
I am aware Mexican is not a race. That's not what I was trying to say, and I apologize if it came across that way. A Netflix interview performed with the showrunner and the author described him as biracial when referring to his physical appearance, which is why the term was used in this article as well. I am happy to take out the term, though.

Since publishing the article, I have learned that the term is offensive to many, and I will be using Latin or Latine as neutral in the future. I'm sorry for the hurt I may have caused.

I did not know it was offensive at the time of writing. However, everyone in the comments has taken the time to educate me and call me in. I appreciate it greatly, and I will be changing all uses of the word in the article.
