See AllI’m Convinced Sentry Had To Be Introduced After 1 MCU Avenger Died In Order To Properly Work In The Franchise
First comment was deleted so let's try again...
How come I'm yet to see a commentary on the similarities between Hulk & Sentry?
Both go to the darkside and both require a woman to connect with them on an emotional level to bring them back, it's yet another theme of women carrying the emotional burden of a man's lack of emotional self-awareness. Also similar to Pepper always being Stark's moral com. Shall we also add that when women go to the darkside in MCU, Black Widow & Scarlett Witch, they self-sacrifice for the safety of others.
Yes, we do have Steve Rogers and T'Challa as banners of genuinely strong men, although still not totally convinced on Thor.
So, who can defeat Sentry??? I say Yelena, she's already proven to be the one strong enough and courageous enough to step into his darkness to pull him out.
But when is MCU going to stop role-modelling this same trope that men can't take self-responsibility for their own darkness? That it's the emotional burden of women to do so. Hasn't Yelena endured enough already without having to take responsibility for Sentry as well?

It's frustrating how she never seems to be included in these kinds of discussions
Every Fantasy Fan Should Watch This 5-Season Masterpiece With 91% On Rotten Tomatoes
If you're only watching fantasy shows for the romance then you're going to be consistently disappointed
I'm Really Worried About Prime Video's Biggest Fantasy Show After Just Cancelling Its 88% RT Adaptation Series
I just hope that if they do cancel it they still give justice to the legacy of Tolkien. I took forever to watch the second season despite being a LOTR fan but now I've seen they introduced Bombadil and are fleshing out Isildur's story more I'm keen for more.
Their mistake was cancelling WOT without sufficient closure. They need to take a note out of Netflix's book. The Witcher could've been canned at the end of season 3 but they went ahead with 2 more seasons filming them back to back instead of waiting for reviews and I'm up for it. Rebel Moon was another one where they didn't wait for reviews but filmed the movies back to back and released them 6 months apart. Customers are now likely to remain loyal if the powers that be show they give a damn about them. I'm more likely to feel confident in a Netflix show than an Amazon one now.
Seven Of Nine's Star Trek Future Gets Hopeful Update From Jeri Ryan 2 Years After Picard's Ending
Still stuns me how these corporations don't listen to the fans
I Hope I'm Right That Star Trek Won't Make This TNG Character Geordi La Forge's Wife
What pissed me off so much about those episodes was that it was never called out how thoroughly inappropriate it was, even the real Leah eventually laughs it off when she should've been making a complaint to Picard.
Despite how progressive Star Trek was presented as, it still had serious problems with sexism in a big way.
