See AllI Love Buffy, But The Reboot Has To Change These 6 Things About The Original Show
I'm not sure about the bury your queers thing. I mean…Willow did live and she was queer. And really loads of characters died in this show, so it’s not like they singled Tara out.
A lot of these suggestions are just so surface level. To have each episode be an issue of the week (like your supernatural metaphor for climate change idea) will risk making the same mistake Doctor Who made in recent seasons, which became so stilted and preachy it was fabricated in the worst way possible. Don’t get me wrong, I’m an ally on these issues, but if you can’t do them well—and writing these issue-based stories in a believable organic way is really hard—then you shouldn’t do it at all. This is probably where the story should have started in the first place, or at least they could have hit it much faster and in season 1. It’s still a very uneven show, but at least this season seems to be a bit tighter, for what it’s worth.
