See AllThe Fantastic Four: First Steps Trailer - MCU Silver Surfer & Reed Richards' Superpowers Revealed
The Silver Surfer is a real bummer for me in this movie. Norrin Radd was one of my favourite superheroes growing up. I liked him in the old FF movie but knew we could do better. Was hoping to see an improved version of the iconic Silver Surfer here but not this. Is there a female version for every iconic male Marvel character now?
I've Said It Before And I'll Say It Again - Avengers: Endgame Destroyed The MCU
I have a different opinion from the writer and explanation of the turn of events. I didn't think Endgame was that good. Rather I think Infinity War was that good and Endgame rode off the momentum generated and hunger of fans over a year to see the story's culmination. That's why its sales were that high. Everyone wanted to see the end of an adrenaline-filled 2-parter. Not that Endgame was terrible, but it wasn't as good as hyped in this article.
The idea of a multiverse isn't exactly everyone's cup of tea and it was introduced in Endgame. The concept has been abused with an 'anything is possible' multiverse where cartoon characters interface with real life in Loki (like Space Jam) and there are many cameos from other productions in MCU films just for ticket sales. It's quite convoluted now. We have RDJ coming back as Dr. Doom. There's a height of commercialization and gratuitous exploitation of MCU post-Endgame. Anything and everything goes. And it's put off many people who liked the original groundedness.
One thing the writer seems to suggest is that Avengers is MCU and vice versa. I see Endgame as the end of the Avengers era and the start of a new one. Perhaps mutant, perhaps Fantastic Four and intergalactic characters era...not sure. But the best thing for MCU is to switch gears and let the Avengers ghost go with Endgame. Many other heroes need the spotlight occupied by Avengers for almost 2 decades.
