Don't really get it, this was the best MCU offering since Endgame.

I think fatigue is real, but also that superheroes are to some extent a male power fantasy. Even Wonder Woman had a 50/50 audience. Deadpool hit the billion mark because it's a wise cracking dude. Broody guys like Batman work but despite Pugh being fantastic, girl superheroes don't inspire much love.

Captain Marvel 1 came out at peak hype and did worse than Black Panther. Every other successful film had stronger male heroes.
