I’m fascinated by Gurathin and Murderbot dynamic. The “simulacrum of intimacy” dialogue was oddly intimate for two characters who didn’t even have sex in that scene, and you could tell how exposed each felt in front of the other. I don’t see him as creepy because Gurathin can’t express friendship or affection as openly as Ratthi - And I can already see how a SecUnit would interpret that as dislike or rejection - it’s not like Gurathin is going to act on his feelings or expects anything from Dr Mensah. He just wanted to smell her pillow to feel safe again, just like Murderbot wanted to keep an eye on him to make sure it was safe for itself.
