Polaski was brilliant and in some ways I liked her better than Crusher. What doomed her with fans is she was an out of no were replacement character replacing a polpular character that was suddenly written out in a very half assed way. That VERY RARELY works out well. Then she was just gone and Crusher was magically back. A real MEH bit of writing for both Polaski's introduction and ending.

Of course Geordi La Forge made a good Commodore he is Geordi after all. He is a bit of an odd fit though for a Commodore. He is Intelligent, honest, and competent not common traits for that rank.

Don't be surprised if new Who revisits some of these. Mentioned but never seen characters like the terrible Zodin may finally make an official appearance. After all we have seen oddities like meep show up.
