See AllOverlooked Resident Evil Classic Turns 25 This Year - Capcom, It's Time To Bring It Back
Honestly, a longer story, and more to the Chris side over all... And A Co-op(offline, split screen) option...
And possibly some bonus scenes/content that connects it better to the mainline series, being a Resident Evil 2.5 as it was...
The Resident Evil Movie Reboot Adapting This 23-Year-Old Game Is The Last Hope To Save The Franchise After 8 Misfires
Ah yes... Resident Evil... The film adaptations that after 8 movies or so STILL only managed ONE decent casting choice... (Wesker, in the last few Anderson Films.)
If this new guy is to do well, he needs three things...
1: A good Storyline, that is sufficiently creepy, but also has PLENTY of Easter eggs for the fans, while being Somewhat Accurate to the games... And yeah, Zero is PERFECT for this, ESPECIALLY if it leads to a sequel where they FINALLY ADAPT THE SPENCER ESTATE...
2: Good Pacing. Don't just immediately drop in the T-mutates and BOWs... Give it some slow build up, with a few slower moments in between Action scenes... And none of that Super Soldier Crap.
And 3: A cast that Actually Resemble the Characters in more ways than just superficial ones... I mean, This is Rebecca and Billy... They have CLEARLY DEFINED LOOKS AND BEHAVIOR. If they cast As badly as Anderson did, well... There is no excuse for What Anderson did to So many characters... I mean, Claire(bad casting), Carlos(Was just Fehr playing himself again, barely acting.), Jill(decent in the second film, setup with no pay off In the fourth...), Barry(WHY? Just... WHY?), Chris(Didn't fit the character in any way... Still did a damn good job, though), Sherry(Wasn't Even Used, They replaced the character with a DIFFERENT little girl... Who was completely Unnecessary, and blinked out of existence, apparently, between films... But that was Sherry Birkins ROLE.),
THE NEMESIS PROJECT( OKAY, so this one was fine... But still not great, there's no Stakes, it doesnt mutate 5 times, And goes down WAY too easily ), Albert Wesker(Terrible Casting, Then the Recast WAS PERFECT. So yeah, Paul... Ya got ONE.)
And that Reboot was just Bad casting all around... Better Story and Atmosphere, though, despite the MASSIVE liberties taken.
Honestly, if they get the Story, Atmosphere, pacing, and Casting Right, even if it ends up being an action movie again, it'll do well.
James Cameron’s Terminator 7 Will Have To Do What The Franchise Has Been Avoiding For 40 Years
My favorite was 2, because of Robert rather than Arnold. The T-1000 needed to be a perfect balance of Cool, Creepy, and Badass, And they cast the role PERFECTLY...
BUT... Is everyone forgetting that the 800 wasn't the only turncoat T series in the franchise? The TV Series is, apparently, Canon to the Franchise, at least to one timeline, and it CERTAINLY didn't feature Arnold...
So there's a good chance they'll take that route again, and considering modern films, it'll probably be an African American Woman, protecting a Transgender Character, from a bunch of Robotic Politicians... Jk, but I'd be surprised is there WASN'T at least one of these things.
Or... Perhaps a Reveal that Skynet WASNT the villain at all, and there's ANOTHER A.I. or Something FRAMING IT. And maybe, just maybe... John Connor is the real villain... Talk about a twist, yeah? It would suck, and completely ruin the franchise, so... Most likely outcome, I guess.
But honestly, another Future based film would be nice... Possibly set after the war ends, Where the sole surviving machine must work to protect humanity against giant Radioactive bugs
... They could call it EX-TERMINATOR!
A Dungeons & Dragons Show Based On This 40-Year-Old Setting Would Be As Hard To Watch As House Of The Dragon
While I would Enjoy a Dragonlance Series, and it would do well, I think a Better Choice is to Adapt some of the Popular Forgotten Realms Setting Novels... Partly due to Recognition, As SO MANY people know the Baldurs Gate, Neverwinter, and Even Icewind Dale Areas due to various media... But mostly due to Ease of Adaptation. Dragonlance is Dull to start, and the novels have MANY slow moments that are plot important. Moreover, while Seeming Straightforward, Is actually far more Complicated and Convoluted than "War between Humans and Chromatic Dragons".
As for the Forgotten Realms, it has A certain Well known Storyline set in it, that is absolutely PERFECT for Adaptation into a Multi-Season Series... The Drizzt novels. Each season of 8 to 12 episodes could Easily Adapt A single Volume, Using that Volumes subtitle as each seasons name.(Homecoming, Sojourn, Exile, The Crystal Shard, Etc...)
Much simpler to adapt than Dragonlance for the primary reason of being a Slower paced, Smaller scale Story... Rather than The Heroes of the Lance, It follows only Drizzt at first...
But then, I'm no Film Producer...
