Ridley Scott's Forgotten '80s Thriller Was The Closest We'll Get To His Blade Runner Sequel
And here I thought I was the only one that ed Black Rain. Thanks for shining a light on a lost gem.
6 Fantasy Show Cancellations That Still Make No Sense
It seems like the streamers don't exactly understand their business model. They're the Blockbuster Video now. Their content isn't based on opening weekends, box office returns, or Nielsen ratings. It's the accumulative effect of having the content there available to watch whenever wanted.
All of these series could be watched multiple times over by fans revisiting an old friend and new fans discovering it a decade or so down the line.
And, series with gratifying conclusions, if not even just a definitive conclusion, are even more likely to be watched and re-watched.
6 Fantasy Show Cancellations That Still Make No Sense
I'll see your Sanderson and raise you a King.
Look at The Shining. Significant changes from the source material but the movie (1st movie, not the remake) is frequently touted as the superior version.
Having said that, yes, I prefer the WoT source material. Yes, I'm just a contrarian.
6 Fantasy Show Cancellations That Still Make No Sense
Sense8 was one of my first thoughts for this list.
10 Movies That Prove The '80s Was The Best Decade For Sci-Fi
Just re-watched The Abyss again recently; amazing film.
Hulk Reveals How He'd Kill Thor, And It Truly Couldn't Be Darker
This is one that kind of depends on the writer/series.
Hulk has been shown to survive in space, sometimes needing oxygen, sometimes surviving indefinitely with nothing at all. So, his need to breathe varies wildly.
Also, Hulk has previously been shown to grow gills out of necessity which kinda checks the box for needing oxygen but adds another box for adapting to water environments.
Then, there's Hulk's connection to One Below All granting him immortality through resurrection. Thor has previously pinned Hulk down using Mjolnir, and Hulk simply pushed his body through it leaving a hammer-sized hole to regenerate.
Worse comes to worse because of this immortality, Hulk's body just lays there until Earth crumbles in the far distant future then resurrects. Ripping a distraught Banner out of Valhalla, and giving Thor a really really big surprise.
Star Wars' Best TV Show Proves Palpatine Wasn't Nearly As Powerful As He Claimed To Be
I think unlimited power is more a goal than a claim of possession. A battle cry basically. I've never really liked the line, but this is what happens when there's no one reign in George Lucas writing dialogue.
Andor’s Best Scenes Somehow Make A Big Rogue One Cameo Worse
Not sure how makes it worse. Of course he answers to Vader. Vader is the direct representative of Emperor Palpatine. It's a secret project of the highest security levels; probably only Krennic as the project director, Galen Erso as the engineer, Tarkin as the Death Star commander, and Vader & Palpatine know the full details.
Krennic is the 4th man down on that totem pole even as the project director, above only Erso. His progress reports go to Tarkin, Vader, and the emperor.
And, he probably avoids Vader as much as possible. Vader doesn't care for the station much. He tells Tarkin the power of the station is nothing compared to the power of the Force. I'm sure he poo-poos every email he gets about it. But, Papa Palps wants a Death Star so Vader is gonna make sure he gets it.
I'm Convinced The MCU's Two New 2025 Hero Teams Mean The Avengers Movies Don't Need 1 Marvel Group For The First Time In 6 Years
Well, the likelihood of a cosmic-centric team being included in an Earth-based story is pretty low no matter how you look at it.
I'd never have expected to see the GotG in Avengers: Doomsday. Not unless/until those events became a threat to the greater galaxy.
If Star-Lord's "entrepreneurial artifact appropriations" hadn't crossed paths with Thanos and his goal with the Infinity Stones, then the GotG wouldn't have been on Earth for Infinity War and Endgame.
Cassian Andor Got The Best Revenge Of Any Character In Star Wars
The minorest of quibbles here, but I'm pretty sure Dedra had a cellmate. Top bunk on the upper left of the screen. Pretty sure someone else was in the cell.
If You Loved Conan The Barbarian, Watch This Fun 1980s Fantasy Movie Trilogy
I'm also gonna throw Princess Bride in there. And, while there's no actual magic which should exclude it from the sword & sorcery subgenre, I'm going to add Flesh and Blood.
I'd also like to remove Krull. That should go into a separate sub category with Flash Gordon, and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, and Ice Pirates
If You Loved Conan The Barbarian, Watch This Fun 1980s Fantasy Movie Trilogy
Alright, alright... If we're going to mention Conan, Beastmaster... and I'm going to go on a long list here: Dragonslayer, Legend, Ladyhawke, Willow, Red Sonja, Hercules, Clash of the Titans, Excalibur, Krull, the Barbarians, the Sword and the Sorcerer, Hawk the Slayer, Gor, Ator, Sword of the Valiant, Fire and Ice...
Well then I'm gonna demand we include Deathstalker.
Scarlet Witch Vs. Sentry: Which MCU Character Is More Powerful?
Sentry > Scarlet Witch
Thanks to the Funko Pop toyline reveal, the MCU character that most rivals Sentry's reality warping abilities is about to make their appearance in Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Not Silver Surfer. Not Galactus. It's Franklin Richards.
Scarlet Witch Vs. Sentry: Which MCU Character Is More Powerful?
His power IS reality manipulation. He manifests as Superman-like superhero because that's how he wants to see himself. He doesn't have super strength, or speed, or energy blasts inherently. He simply imagines/wills himself to have these things. Same as how he manifests as the Void. Once he imagines/wills someone is in the Void, they simply are. No spell, no effort; just reality. Sentry's limits are self-imposed.
After the New Avengers' MCU Debut, Marvel Is Putting the Team's Best Villain In the Spotlight
More excited for the Hood than for Ironheart.
His inclusion makes possible the return of Dormammu, or the Darkhold. Maybe that return of Doctor Strange. The first appearances of Mephisto and Ghost Rider in the MCU. And, being an evil magic wielder can bridge the introduction of Doctor Doom.
After Ironheart’s New Trailer, I Finally Understand Why The Hero Needed To Get Her Suit In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever First
So, basically Tony's character arc? He too had to confront the "why" of all his suit building. Hint: It wasn't just about an upgrade cycle.
I'm going to give Ironheart a shot. But, from the trailer I'm not seeing a lot beyond the same ol' superhero film cliches and tropes. The humor seems to be at about the same as the Shuri, "What are those?!" attempt at meme humor in Black Panther.
Different franchise I know, but same IP owner, so I ask: What kinda of show are we being given here... Is it Andor, Skeleton Crew, or Acolyte level?
David Tennant Bluntly Responds To Doctor Who Return Rumors Amid Show's Uncertain Future
I'm as much a fan of Tennant's Doctor as anyone (okay, Tom Baker is MY Doctor) but for decades the defining aspect of the Doctor is the regeneration into a *new* Doctor.
Too many fans these days are stuck on only one actor being able to play a role.
One Of Dune 3's Most Problematic Romances Has Already Been Partially Fixed
Since Hayt is a clone of the deceased Duncan Idaho, technically Alia is older than him.
Sentry Is Great, But The New Avengers' Greatest Member Will Surprise All You MCU Fans
Or Molecule Man. I think only reality warpers can really handle reality warpers.
Doctor Who Changes Its Intro Sequence For The Second Season In A Row, And It's Another Sign "Doctor Who" Is A Show Within A Show
Is the Doctor still crying all the time? I kinda checked out last season when it seemed the Doctor had a hormonal imbalance.
