Apparently Genevieve O'Reilly proposed to Tony Gilroy that they film her entire senate speech, and simple take the clips they preferred. But she wanted to give it the full effort, and do the whole thing. Would love to see/hear the entire speech!

Actually it was 4, because Claudia Wells was the first choice, but became unavailable. Melora Hardin was then selected (1st recast), but never filmed any scenes, because Eric Stoltz was replaced with Michael J. Fox, after they decided to move on from Stoltz and Fox was actually available this time around (being their first/original choice). Hardin was taller than Fox, so they went back to Wells (who was now also available, 2nd recast) as she was shorter. Then when Wells was again unavailable for the sequels, they recast Jennifer (3rd time) with Elizabeth Shue. Lastly, Jennifer was recast once more with Cathy Cavadini (4th time) for the animated series. So Wells/Hardin/Wells/Shue/Cavadini, quite the path for the gal in floral pants!

Yeah, it seems like such an overly convoluted process just to keep the camera to the outside clean. Relying on a broadcasted video of a beuatiful, healthy outside world, just to keep the camera lens clean. I guess over the years it coild get that complicated; but why not have an automated cleaning system? Or use completely sealed suits (obviously there's technology to properly seal the silo) to go out and clean? What if the camera has some other failure? It still shouldn't be all that difficult to convince everyone its deadly outside. Banishment/death would still easily prove that. Nonetheless, a great series, look forward to reading the books, just not yet so the show won't get spoiled!

Same here, I've been enjoying S2 so far! Sure, its hard to replicate the drama of everyone in one Silo, but that wasnt going to last. Plenty of secrets in the original Silo left, combined with what may be in the other one now. And the possibility of minor characters from season 1 have more significant roles now. And will we ever get to see how terrible it is at the mines??
