See AllNetflix's Canceled One-Season Western With 86% On RT Convinces Me American Primeval Needs To Continue
I enjoyed enjoyed the show as a work of fiction. I thought it was captivating and intense. The production value was great. It took me a while to convince myself to watch it though because I am a historian. The show is only 'based on true events' in the loosest sense possible. I repeatedly had to remind myself to divorce the show from history and reality. The director never claimed it was remotely accurate, but it was still hard to disregard the inaccuracies at first. Once I eventually when I got into it, the absurd liberties taken made it easier to accept it as the work of entertainment it is. As friends of mine frequently say, it isn't a documentary don't try and make it one.
