See AllBetter Man's Box Office Is So Much Worse When ing Its Connection To This $469 Million Musical
I can understand why English fans of Robbie Williams are enthusiastic backers of this movie. But some friends have asked me why has the movie done so terribly in the United States. I went to three movies around the time of Better Man coming out and no one in my New York theaters even knew what the movie was about.
The CGI Ape in the trailer looks human and is in front of a large auditorium crowd. You quickly see that he is an ape and several people said "oh another Planet of the Apes release." Then the announcer say s this is about Robbie Williams and people near me though it was about Robert Williams. They said it was depressing since his life ended in death by suicide. They also asked why was Williams singing instead of telling jokes.
I understand that Williams is a popular music act in the UK, but he really is not here in the United States. Other British stars have done well in movies in the US, but they were already famous here like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Who, and the Clash. People liked the band before they went to see their movies.
