See AllDoctor Odyssey Might Be Cancelled After Just One Season, And The Finale Is Reportedly Prepared To End The Show
I'll reiterate what I've said before. The story lines are far beyond realistic if not downright insulting. The Love Boat was a great steward for the cruise industry. It was a bit shmarmy but not unreasonably unrealistic. Doctor Odyssey has been incredibly dismissive of cruise industry norms on dating. The medical side is almost laughable if it was in a state of the art facility. Ship Drs run limited hours and are effectively a first aid station. The shark and orca attack were ridiculous, then only to be saved by an uninvited Asperger Savant? C'mon. The Dr always showing up in dress whites after surgery is a bit much as well. Just when you think this show isn't unrealistic enough, it out does itself the next week. While the guest stars are definitely necessary, many of them have been obnoxious, polarizing abominations that further limit your potential audience. All in all, the show can go.
Doctor Odyssey Episode 10 Convinced Me That Its Love Triangle Needs To Already End
Frankly, just halfway into the season and they have already reached their Fonzie moment, Jumping the Shark. Where as The Love Boat was shmarmy, it did wonders for the cruise industry. On the other hand, this show is completely unrealistic. Medical care on cruise ships is expensive, limited and basic at best, it's not Starship Enterprise level. The decorum of the crew is taboo as well. It's flashy and trashy. No way a great white and a pod of orcas disables a state of the art cruise ship. Or a an autistic savant first mate saves the day. It's beyond believable at this point. To see it get cancelled would hardly be a surprise.
