What most studios seem to fail at seeing is people want new and original content. The don't want to be pandered to or force fed some ideology. Disney is well aware of the films that have done well and they are usually original, newly imagined stories and if they are remakes they aren't remakes reinvented and stay true to the originals. People aren't being indecisive about what they want. Audiences are making thier desires clear. The studio heads need to shut up and actually listen. A new character and story like the one suggested in this article sounds great. If it was in fact shelved or that it is now being shelved because of their current movies failure just proves they still aren't listening. New original content is exactly what everyone wants. Something that appeals to everyone and doesn't have some agenda attached. Itxs a pretty simple formula that no one seems to be able to get right anymore.
