You miss the true, layered villain of mistborn, and tge cosmere as a whole. Introduced in book one, a character most may not even realize is a villain. Kelsier.

He murders people in cold blood, starts a cult, starts a group responsible for tons of 'necessary' murders, and claims all he does is good. He truly believes that what he does is right, and his character development is incredible. You may root for him until you see he's been a villain the whole time. (Also the only character so far to be 'slapped around' by Hoid)
