I thought so too. But I now think The Good The Bad and the Ugly is better. Plus a great closing scene. Sure Once upon the time had a couple great opening scenes. But over all the story is better for the Goid the Bad and the Ugly. And I’d prefer to watch that as well. However both films are great. But it is close.

I would have preferred Robert Rodriguez version because Campbells version, which was ok, was just too studio. I would have preferred a more stylized RR version. But I can see why half the budget might not have been enough.
But kinda glad he didn’t because he ended up directing the Faculty which to me was more entertaining however different genres. I’ve seen faculty at least 15 or 20 times. I’ve only seen Mask of Zorro once.
