I don't mind the Timeless Child idea. It does make the Doctor mysterious, makes the Doctor more than a Time Lord (Masterplan), explains the Morbius Doctors, and explains why the show will never end just because the Doctor happens to run out or regenerations. And it is less contradictory to "canon" than, say, Atlantis being destroyed 3 different ways.
