Agreed. My (grown) son is shockingly uptight, something I NEVER EVER impressed upon him growing up. I've always been quite open, honest, laid back, etc. His level of black & white thinking (& crazy firm belief) really bothers me; I can't seem to circumvent it in any way, not that I'll stop trying.

Ex- he's thoroughly convinced I "underage/older" relationships bc he found out I went on ONE SINGLE DATE w a 25yo when I was 16 (1995!!). He also insists that the guy is a horrible person, should be reported (even today!), etc. He was genuinely a nice guy & his sister (my coworker) set us up- pretty sure he wasn't aware of my age, nor I his. We went to a movie and then a lake to feed ducks. Nothing nefarious, inappropriate. But my son is insanely firm in his judgement no matter what I say.... Everything's black and white. 🫤
