Snoke and that trilogy had a lot of potential. Even after Force Awakens came out I still had hope. It had a lot of similarities with A New Hope (besides the plot) but unlike how ESB complimented ANH and setup RotJ the abomination that followed Awakens did nothing but destroyed any semblance of cohesion or character development.
