I'm really not sure Gatwa is doing a great job. He certainly doesn't rank up there among the best (IMO). He's really just playing a more confident version of Eric from sex education.
I think any connection to the Doctor beyond the most superficial is insignificant at best.

The problem is the spoilers are so hard to avoid right now if you wanted to avoid the costume, it's almost impossible as every site on the planet and every chat group is talking about it.
It's great but we are not seeing the finished article. Everyone is making an opinion on the quality of the costume and we haven't seen the finished post FX costume yet.
I guess we can decide that tomorrow after the trailer 😱😱😱
