If Shonen Jump Wants to Revisit Its Glory Days, It Really Needs to Rethink Its Lineup
It should be noted that a few of the titles referenced here don't run in the Weekly Shonen Jump flagship magazine but rather are published digitally via Jump+, similarly to how Chainsaw Man and Spy x Family are currently published. Jump+ is known as being a relatively safer place to experiment with titles. The only one running in the flagship magazine is Star of Beethoven, which is interesting in itself seeing as Jump hasn't had a musical series really take off in a while despite them trying a handful of music themed series in the past decade (e.g. PPPPP).
IMO Jump has a handful of new prospects that can anchor the magazine. Kagurabachi, Ichi the Witch, and Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi are all newcomers that, despite not yet having anime adaptations, are putting up some serious numbers in manga sales. The Elusive Samurai, Blue Box, and Sakamoto Days all just saw major boosts in sales thanks to their recent anime adaptations as well. Those are six series that should be able to anchor the magazine, and to be honest that's around the number of anchors Jump has usually relied on. Jump is gonna be fine so long as they invest in their authors.
