What is missing in Star Wars now is everything that made it the phenomenon it was in 77'. It doesn't matter if it's R-rated when it's a compelling story arc, emotional character investment, and intense action. Revan's or KOTOR's stories are great because they are fan familiar, and new enough for newbs.
